3 Humaitarian Volunteer Organizations

Last year, I decided I wanted to volunteer with a humanitarian program during the summer. This was a long term goal of mine ever since my older cousin had volunteered. The first thing I did was Google "humanitarian programs teens." There were tons of results and it was hard to know where to start. I researched and these are three of the top humanitarian programs you should consider for your volunteer work.

1. International Language Program (iLP)

ILP is an organization for college students that focuses on teaching English to children around the world in a unique and loving way. It was created by college students who wanted a program similar to study abroad, but allowed you to interact with and serve people in other countries. They didn't want to be tourists or students in a class room. They wanted to make a different.

2. Orphanage Support Services Organization (OSSO)

OSSO's mission statement is "to do everything possible to help children living in orphanages and similar institutions reach their potential." OSSO currently works with orphanages in Ecuador and Thailand. You can volunteer at any time during the year for up to 12 weeks. OSSO also offers a summer program for teens. Volunteers stay for 2 weeks and are 16-18 years old. I'm volunteering with OSSO this July
